Kommuna Lux is a Ukrainian band rooted in the port city of Odesa, led by clarinetist Volodymyr Gitin and trumpeter Serhii Zhuravel, alongside accordion, drums, and vocals. The ensemble blends Ukrainian folk traditions with klezmer and Balkan swing, performing with infectious rhythm, improvisation, and emotional intensity. They perform at venues including The Local, KleinLife, Hudson Yards Synagogue, Marlboro Jewish Center, Dartmouth Green, KRUG Community Circle, Eastside Jewish Commons, and THE DISTRICT.
