Housed in the historic former Moose Lodge 46 in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood, Spirit is a fiercely independent live music venue, event space, and neighborhood hangout. Founded in 2015, the venue brilliantly preserves the retro, wood-paneled charm of its fraternal lodge roots while injecting a distinctly modern, DIY ethos.Spirit operates across two distinct levels. Downstairs is Spirit Lodge, an intimate, gritty, 250-capacity room that feels like a classic basement club, perfect for blistering punk sets, underground electronic nights, and local indie showcases. Upstairs sits Spirit Hall, a sprawling 700-capacity ballroom complete with a massive stage, vaulted ceilings, and a dedicated bar. The Hall hosts major touring indie acts, massive techno dance nights, and even alternative weddings. Connecting it all is a vibrant outdoor patio space and their in-house kitchen, Slice Island, which serves up some of the city's best wood-fired pizza.Unpretentious, highly collaborative, and community-focused, Spirit isn’t just a place to catch a show—it’s an anchor of Pittsburgh’s creative community.
