AJJ, formerly known as Andrew Jackson Jihad, is an American folk punk band from Phoenix, Arizona. Their music blends acoustic folk instrumentation with punk energy, characterized by raw, introspective lyrics and a distinctive, often sardonic vocal delivery. Influenced by artists such as The Mountain Goats and Neutral Milk Hotel, AJJ's sound is marked by a blend of earnest storytelling and social commentary. Since forming in 2004, they have maintained a DIY ethos, contributing to their reputation within the indie and punk communities.
