Rat Dreams plays folk rock music that combines traditional instrumentation and song forms with electronic sounds and free improvisation. Their music is panoramic, rooted in storytelling, and fragmented by noise and improvisation. Alt-country, old time, slowcore, minimalism, and ambient influences can be heard throughout. Dogs at Large is a Chicago-based rock band led by singer-songwriter Sam Pirruccello. Known for their languid, Americana-inflected sound, they have been a fixture in the local music scene since the mid-2010s. Their music blends modern bedroom pop sensibilities with traditional country-rock, a nod to Pirruccello's family roots; his father and uncle co-founded the 1970s country-rock band Ouray. Over the years, Dogs at Large has released several albums and EPs, including their self-released 2024 EP Moonlight, and their 2023 full-length album, County Line.
