The Portland Jazz Orchestra has been a staple at One Longfellow Square since 2006, bringing Maine’s premier concert jazz ensemble to the stage with a 19-piece big band led by Dr. Chris Oberholtzer. Their repertoire blends classic big band charts by composers like Duke Ellington and Count Basie with new works from contemporary and local writers. This special performance marks the first musical event at Maine Public’s new home at 320 Cumberland Ave. More details to follow regarding directions, parking, and other logistics as construction at Maine Public’s new facility is completed.
