Cruzando Ensueños | Across Borders | Musical Monologue Presented by Acoustic Memories Location: Terraza 7 Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026 Time: 7:00 PM Admission: $15 Cover Charge for Mezzanine Featuring: Georgina Wonchee — Acting and vocals Gabriela Grimaldi — Violin Juan Carlos Marín Marín — Jarana and requinto Please note: This performance will be presented entirely in Spanish, with no English translation. Synopsis: Death emerges from the shadows to guide the audience through a dreamlike journey of music, memory, and farewell. By turns tender, mournful, and alluring, she invites us to reflect on the celebration of life, the experience of loss, and the bonds that endure across borders. Inspired by rituals for bidding farewell to the dead in Indigenous communities of Oaxaca, Cruzando Ensueños | Across Borders is a performance ritual dedicated to migrants who have died at the borders and to the families who carry their memory. Through song and theatrical storytelling, the work explores migration, family separation, and mourning, creating a symbolic meeting place for those who have left and those who remain. Written and directed by Liliana Alberto and performed by actress and singer Georgina Wonchee, this 45-minute work features six songs, primarily in Spanish, including one in Zapotec. At Terraza 7, Gabriela Grimaldi on violin and Juan Carlos Marín Marín on jarana and requinto join the performance.
