Filament is an experimental jazz trio featuring longtime friends and collaborators Alex Carter (saxophone), Tobe Tsuchiya (piano), and Danilo Randjic-Coleman (bass). Formed in early 2024, the group draws inspiration from a wide spectrum of genres - ranging from film scores and chamber music to death metal. Their debut EP Once Upon a Time on the Sun was released in March 2025. The goal of Filament is to create music that is complex and relevant, to strike a balance between popular musical forms and the avant-garde. STEM is a contemporary jazz ensemble that performs the original music of trumpeter and composer Sean Temme. With a dedication to both improvisation and composition, the group's performances resonate with authenticity, showcasing the individual talents of its members while creating a cohesive musical experience. Rhys Tivey is a performance artist spanning multiple disciplines. For his work as a singer, composer, music producer, trumpeter, songwriter, his music and collaborations are listenable at rhystivey.com. As an actor / performer, he has performed at La Mama, HERE Arts, New Ohio Theater, Mercury Story Residency, NACL, Keshet NM, Theater for New Audience, Abrons Arts with Marcel Dzama, Phish “Cerealist Bowl”, Sibiu Fest, and more. As a teacher, Rhys combines research-based sustainable vocal technique with yoga, qi-gong, holistic intuitive embodiment, vocal improv and songwriting, offering both individual private lessons and group facilitation.
