Short Waves Presents: £2 WEDS \-We Lost Alice We Lost Alice, a six-piece girl band from London, formed in December 2024. Dreamy orchestral folk-rock, woven with rich harmonies and dramatic, cinematic storytelling. (https://www.instagram.com/welostalice/) \-Naked Brunch Naked Brunch are a 4-piece chamber pop and post-punk band based in London made up of cellist/singer Amelia, guitarist/singer Ethan, bassist Ted, and drummer Theo. After producing and selling out a limited run of their debut LP ‘Plague Dance’ a year prior, Naked Brunch spent 2025 working on new songs and gigging at venues on the London circuit like the George Tavern and the Shacklewell Arms. October saw the band record their second LP at Studio Théoulas in the chapel of Château de Brélidy in Brittany. They’ve already released 4 singles, landing a recent feature on BBC Radio 6 Music with their song Bitter Soul. “Absolutely phenomenal, to be filed alongside Big Thief and Jeff Buckley, they weave melodies that tunnel into your psyche” -Taylor Johnson BBC Radio 6 (https://www.instagram.com/nakedbrunchband/) \-Lex Vervain Lex Vervain, new-town troubadour, singer, songwriter and guitarist operates out of SE London. His music is in tune with the Elliott Smith/ Alex G alt camp, sharp words and serious tunes, songs that come from a small world caught up in the metropolis. Lex mainly plays solo live sets, focusing on ear-pricking vocals, crisp acoustic fretwork, reverb and soft electronic beats to deliver. Lex moved up to London from Crawley new town some seven years ago and has been making music in the city ever since. He currently plays keys in Ellie Bleach’s band and previously did the same in Tenderhost. Active in the bustling South London indie scene he put out his debut, self-titled EP last year which he recorded with Joseph Futak (Lilo, Tapir, Baggio Band, Luce Rushton…). The new Lex Vervain EP will release in the Autumn. He put out a taster of this upcoming music in the shape of ‘New Weight’ in February, produced at RAK studios with Alice Western (Glass Eel).
