Trouble Funk is a pioneering band in the go-go music scene, a subgenre of funk that emerged in Washington, D.C. during the late 1970s. Known for their infectious rhythms and live performances, their sound is characterized by a blend of funk, R&B, and soul, driven by heavy percussion and call-and-response vocals. Influenced by artists like James Brown and Parliament-Funkadelic, Trouble Funk has played a crucial role in popularizing go-go music beyond its regional roots. Their energetic and groove-heavy music remains a staple of the genre.
