The Plimsouls were an American new wave and power pop band formed in Los Angeles in the late 1970s. Led by vocalist and guitarist Peter Case, the group became known for their energetic blend of punk-influenced rock with catchy melodies and straightforward songwriting. Their 1981 album "Everywhere" featured the college radio hit "A Million Miles Away," which showcased their accessible approach to new wave. The band's sound drew from punk rock and 1960s pop influences, characterized by Case's distinctive vocals and the group's tight, guitar-driven arrangements. Though they disbanded in the mid-1980s, The Plimsouls left a notable mark on the Los Angeles new wave scene.
