Geoff Tate is a rock vocalist best known as the former lead singer of the progressive metal band Queensrÿche. His vocal style is characterized by a powerful range and operatic quality, which helped define the band's sound during their peak years. Influenced by classic rock and progressive rock artists, Tate contributed to the band's concept albums and complex song structures. After departing from Queensrÿche, he pursued a solo career and formed the band Operation: Mindcrime, continuing to explore themes of storytelling and intricate musical compositions.
