The March Violets are a British band known for their contributions to the post-punk and gothic rock genres. Emerging from the Leeds music scene in the early 1980s, their sound is characterized by a blend of driving bass lines, atmospheric guitar work, and dual male-female vocals. Influenced by bands like Bauhaus and The Sisters of Mercy, they are noted for their dark, melodic style and thematic exploration of gothic and alternative motifs. Their distinctive approach helped them carve out a niche within the broader post-punk movement of their time.
