The Libertines are an English rock band known for their raw, energetic sound that blends elements of garage rock and punk revival. Formed in London in the late 1990s, they draw notable influence from bands like The Jam, The Clash, and The Smiths. Their music is characterized by jangly guitar riffs, poetic lyrics, and the dynamic interplay between frontmen Pete Doherty and Carl Barât. The Libertines' work often explores themes of British life and youthful rebellion, setting them apart in the early 2000s rock scene.
