The Curtis Family C-notes is a San Francisco-based family band consisting of Papa C, Mama C, and their five children—Zahara, Nile, Isis, Kiki, and Phoenix—who all play multiple instruments and rotate singing lead. The band performs R&B and soul music without pre-recorded tracks. They have performed at venues including Yoshi's, the Blue Note, the Fox Theatre, the Concord Pavilion, the Lincoln Theatre, the Bitter End, and the Balcony Music Club. In addition to touring, the family holds music workshops in communities across the nation and are faculty members at the San Francisco Community Music Center.
