The Box Tops has 1 upcoming show, next at Oxford Performing Arts Center - AL on Thu, Feb 4. Dates, venues and tickets on Ckord.
The Box Tops were an American rock and soul band formed in Memphis in 1964, best known for their blue-eyed soul sound that blended rock with R&B and pop sensibilities. Led by teenage vocalist Alex Chilton, the group achieved major commercial success in the late 1960s with hits like "The Letter" (1967) and "Cry Like a Baby" (1968). Their style drew from soul, gospel, and rock influences, characterized by Chilton's distinctive vocal delivery and the band's tight instrumental arrangements. The Box Tops exemplified the Memphis soul-rock fusion that defined much of their era's popular music, though the group disbanded in 1970 as Chilton pursued a solo career.
