Fred Wesley & the New JBs are a funk band known for their tight, groove-heavy sound that draws heavily from jazz and soul influences. Led by trombonist Fred Wesley, a key figure in James Brown's band during the 1960s and 70s, the group maintains the classic funk rhythms and horn arrangements that defined that era. Their music is characterized by intricate brass sections, syncopated beats, and dynamic improvisation, reflecting Wesley's deep roots in both funk and jazz traditions.
