A Different Thread is a transatlantic duo comprising Alicia Best from North Carolina and Robert Jackson from the UK who met busking on the streets of Ireland. They have independently released three full-length albums and toured internationally, building a reputation for rich harmonies and award-winning songwriting. Their latest album, Over Again, was recorded across studios in North Carolina and the UK, with the title track winning Best in Folk at the 2026 International Acoustic Music Awards. They weave Appalachian blues, British folk rock, and North Carolina alt-country into their own take on Americana, exploring themes of long-distance love, separation, grief, reunion, and social and environmental justice through their engaging live storytelling.
