The Grape — music venue

The Grape

The Grape in Philadelphia has 24 upcoming shows. Next: Brothers Saint with Freeplay + The Gnome Kelly on Thu, Aug 20. Full calendar, lineups and tickets on Ckord.

Located at 105 Grape Street (just off the neighborhood's bustling Main Street), this beloved bi-level venue has been a staple of the local nightlife scene for decades. Formerly known as The Grape Room and Grape Street Pub, the space abruptly closed in 2024, only to be heroically taken over, revamped, and reopened simply as "The Grape" by a trio of former employees dedicated to keeping its gritty, independent spirit alive. The first floor centers around a classic horseshoe bar and a unique pentagonal stage that acts as a vital proving ground for local indie, rock, and punk bands, as well as hosting wildly popular open mic and comedy nights. The energy down here is wonderfully unpretentious, loud, and communal. But if you need a breather, you can head upstairs to discover an entire second lounge! The second floor features its own bar, a pool table, bar-style seating, and a smaller performance space perfect for acoustic sets and DJ nights. It is the perfect, unpolished, zero-attitude spot to grab a cheap beer and discover your new favorite local band.Local Tip: Check their calendar! Alongside the killer rock shows, they frequently host themed events like Emo Nights and pop-punk throwdowns, which are absolutely legendary in the neighborhood. Because it is an authentic dive, leave your fancy clothes at home, grab a drink from the horseshoe bar, and prepare to sweat it out on the dance floor!
