Following a massive $6.2 million revitalization, "The Dell" is now a world-class, 75,000-square-foot outdoor entertainment complex.Boasting over 5,300 reserved seats and a fantastic, relaxed 600-capacity general admission lawn, the amphitheater offers a massive, communal energy while still feeling intimately connected to the stage. It is most famous for its long-running "Essence of Entertainment" summer concert series, which runs every Thursday evening in July and August and regularly draws up to 5,000 patrons a night. The venue has hosted absolute legends over the decades—from Dizzy Gillespie and Ella Fitzgerald to modern contemporary icons like Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle. Because the city's Parks & Recreation department manages it, the venue is deeply committed to keeping ticket prices affordable and serving the community, making it one of the most welcoming, family-friendly concert experiences in Philadelphia.Local Tip: Parking at the Dell Music Center is entirely free!
