Established in June 2020, Small Batch Cellars emerged from the shared passion and creativity of Michael Annatone and Kristen Parsons. Having collaborated for several vintages prior, Michael and Kristen envisioned a winery unbounded by convention, where innovation and exploration are at the heart of each bottle produced. By limiting themselves to small batches, they continuously push the envelope, crafting distinctive wines through unique varietals, blends, styles, and practices.Michael Annatone, a serial entrepreneur and passionate wine enthusiast, serves as the Cellar Master and innovative engineer behind the winery. His entrepreneurial spirit and creative ingenuity are evident throughout the winery, showcased by his numerous custom designs and inventions.Kristen Parsons brings over 15 years of professional winemaking experience, with credentials from Babson College in business and Washington State University in Viticulture and Oenology. Her extensive career has spanned renowned vineyards and wineries across Washington State, Virginia, and Connecticut, where she has been the winemaker for Chamard Vineyards since 2015.At Small Batch Cellars, wine is considered a living, evolving entity. Michael and Kristen approach each grape with reverence, striving to express the unique characteristics of its geography, terroir, and seasonal variations. They do not aim for uniformity year after year but instead focus on showcasing the distinctive qualities each vintage has to offer.Reflecting their commitment to sustainability and thoughtful production, Small Batch Cellars intentionally omits capsules—the decorative sleeves traditionally found atop wine bottles.
