If you want a venue that effortlessly combines a classic retro diner, a lush outdoor beer garden, and a pulsing nightclub into one wildly fun property, you have to spend a night at Silk City.Located right on the corner of 5th and Spring Garden Streets, this Philadelphia institution is a literal triple threat. The property is anchored by a genuine 1952 diner car (originally built in Paterson, NJ—the actual "Silk City") that serves up phenomenal, elevated New American comfort food and one of the most legendary, hangover-curing weekend brunches in the city. But when you step outside the diner car, the vibe shifts entirely. You can grab a craft cocktail in their sprawling, 3,000-square-foot enclosed beer garden (which is heated and open year-round), or head directly into the attached lounge and music venue. The 100-capacity, standing-room-only lounge is a hyper-intimate, neon-lit space that hosts a fantastic rotation of underground indie bands, up-and-coming local acts, and sweaty, late-night DJ dance parties. It is the perfect hybrid space where you can get an incredible meal, lounge under the stars, and dance until 2 a.m. all on the exact same property.Local Tip: Because the diner, beer garden, and music venue all operate as separate but connected spaces, you can custom-build your whole evening! Start your night early in the diner car with some pork belly empanadas or a huge bowl of lobster mac and cheese, pre-game with drinks in the garden, and then hit the lounge for the live music.
