If you are looking for an intimately scaled, pitch-perfect acoustic room that somehow manages to pull in an unbelievably eclectic roster of national and international talent, you have to take a drive out to Bucks County and visit the Sellersville Theater.Originally built in 1894 as a livery stable for the Washington House next door (and later surviving stints as an auto garage and a cinema), the completely renovated 325-seat space is now a cultural anchor for the region. Because the room is so wonderfully small, there is virtually zero separation between the audience and the artists. It is an incredibly comfortable, pristine-sounding room that feels more like an oversized, high-end living room than a traditional concert hall. The theater is famous for its staggeringly diverse booking. On any given week, you might catch a Grammy-winning country star, a legendary roots blues guitarist, a renowned jazz ensemble, a hilarious stand-up comedian, or an incredibly accurate tribute band. It is a no-stress, deeply rewarding place to see live music, complete with free parking right on the premises.Local Tip: You cannot talk about the Sellersville Theater without talking about The Washington House right next door. The two are sister properties, and the restaurant's kitchen is completely synced with the theater's showtimes. Booking a reservation for dinner before simply walking a few steps over to the theater for a show is one of the best "dinner and a movie" style dates in the region!
