If you are heading out to Flushing Meadows for the US Open and want to experience the absolute most electric, rowdy, and unforgettable atmosphere on the grounds, you need to spend some serious time at Louis Armstrong Stadium. While Arthur Ashe Stadium gets all the massive celebrity glamour, die-hard tennis fans will tell you that Armstrong is the true "people's stadium" and the beating heart of the tournament.Completely rebuilt and reopened in 2018, this 14,000-seat arena is an absolute architectural masterpiece. It features a massive retractable roof, meaning you never have to worry about a rain delay ruining your session, but its coolest feature is the innovative terracotta louvered design. It allows natural air to flow through the stadium even when the roof is closed, keeping the space cool without sacrificing that glorious outdoor tournament feel.Because the seating is pitched closer to the court than in the main arena, the energy here gets unbelievably intense. This is notoriously the stadium where epic, grueling five-set upsets happen, with the crowd roaring so loudly you can feel it in your chest. Grab yourself a signature Honey Deuce cocktail, find your seat, and get ready to watch world-class tennis up close and personal! 🍹🎾
