The Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts is Austin’s premier destination for live entertainment and cultural connection. Located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake, the iconic venue offers unparalleled views of the downtown skyline from its grand outdoor plaza, The City Terrace. Opened in 2008, the Long Center is a triumph of sustainable architecture; it was built within the framework of the historic 1959 Palmer Auditorium, reusing over 97% of the original building's materials. The facility boasts three distinct performance spaces: the acoustically brilliant Michael & Susan Dell Hall (2,442 capacity), the highly configurable and intimate Debra and Kevin Rollins Studio Theatre (229 capacity), and the sprawling outdoor City Terrace, which serves as a vibrant gathering spot for community festivals and summer concerts. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Long Center is dedicated to inspiring and uniting the community. It is the proud permanent home of Austin’s Founding Resident Companies—the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Austin Opera, and Ballet Austin—while also hosting major Broadway productions, renowned touring musicians, comedians, and speakers. More than just a theater, the Long Center is a central anchor of Austin’s creative ecosystem, making world-class arts accessible to all Austinites.
