If you want to experience the absolute pinnacle of large-scale arena entertainment in Orange County, the Honda Center in Anaheim is the undisputed heavyweight champion.Located just across the freeway from Angel Stadium and the Disneyland Resort, this massive, 18,000-plus capacity indoor arena originally opened in 1993 (affectionately remembered by locals as the "Pond") as the home of the NHL's Anaheim Ducks. While it is certainly a legendary sports venue, it is also Orange County's premier stop for massive, global touring acts. When the biggest names in pop, rock, hip-hop, and Latin music route through Southern California, they play the Honda Center. The venue itself is beautiful, featuring a sweeping marble and granite facade, glass archways, and a surprisingly easy-to-navigate concourse for its size. The acoustics are famously excellent for an indoor sports arena, and they offer a massive range of seating options—from the chaotic energy of the general admission floor and standard tiered stadium seating to luxurious, fully catered private suites.Local Tip: The Honda Center is currently becoming the anchor of a massive, multi-billion dollar entertainment district called OCVibe. While the area is continually evolving with new restaurants, parks, and concert halls being built right around the arena, this also means construction and traffic can be heavy. Give yourself plenty of extra time to navigate the parking lots, and consider grabbing dinner in nearby Downtown Anaheim or the Anaheim Packing District before heading to the show to avoid the immediate traffic crunch!
