🥁 Herbert Von King Park: Bed-Stuy’s Cultural CornerstoneOne of Brooklyn’s oldest parks, Herbert Von King Park has been the green heart of Bedford-Stuyvesant for over 150 years. With its amphitheater, playgrounds, and tree-lined paths, it’s a community institution — named for a beloved local leader and woven deep into the cultural life of the neighborhood. The park’s amphitheater is a SummerStage venue, bringing a season of free concerts that showcase Brooklyn’s rich musical heritage in jazz, soul, R&B, and global sounds. There’s a real sense of homecoming at a Von King show — the whole neighborhood out together, celebrating its own.Local Tip: The amphitheater setting makes for great sightlines, but the front fills fast on big nights — come early, settle in, and soak up that unmistakable Bed-Stuy community energy. 🎶✊
