Bastet — music venue
Bastet in Philadelphia has 3 upcoming shows. Next: SHADOWPLAY [goth/darkwave/industrial] on Fri, Oct 9. Full calendar, lineups and tickets on Ckord.
If you are looking for the absolute cutting edge of Philadelphia’s late-night underground dance music scene, you have to experience Bastet.Located at 601 Spring Garden Street (taking over the historic former Palmer Social Club building), this highly anticipated, newly minted venue is a massive win for the city's electronic music community. Named after the Egyptian goddess of pleasure and the feline, the two-story club was meticulously reimagined by local creatives to preserve the raw, historic bones of the building while injecting it with fresh, distinctly Philly energy. The venue operates with a brilliant dual personality. On the first floor, you will find an open-format listening space that leans heavily into hip-hop and eclectic beats. But head upstairs, and you step onto the original hardwood floors of a dedicated club room pulsating with house, techno, and underground club music. Built specifically for audiophiles, the main dance floor boasts an incredible, meticulously restored four-point sound system utilizing salvaged 1990s JBL speakers, all illuminated by immersive, custom lighting installations.Whether you are catching legendary touring house DJs, rising techno producers, or the absolute best of Philly's homegrown talent, Bastet offers an unpretentious, sweaty, and fiercely expressive space built by and for the dancefloor community.Local Tip: Because Bastet is deeply rooted in the late-night club community, this is not a place you want to show up to early. It is a true after-hours haven, with the dance floor really hitting its stride well past midnight. Be sure to RSVP ahead of time for discounted entry on most nights, and remember that the door is often cash only!
