If you want the world-class talent of a massive concert hall without losing the sweaty, intimate magic of a neighborhood rock club, you need to make the short trip out to Ardmore Music Hall. Located just outside the city limits on the historic Main Line, this 600-capacity independent venue is an absolute crown jewel of the greater Philadelphia music scene.Originally known as the legendary 23 East Cabaret (which hosted early, iconic gigs from bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Phish), the completely modernized room boasts one of the most pristine sound systems in the region. AMH attracts an unbelievably diverse roster of national touring acts—from heavy-hitting jam bands and funk legends like George Clinton to bluegrass, indie rock, and hip-hop icons. Because the room is so perfectly sized, there literally is not a bad sightline in the house. You get the rare privilege of seeing festival-headlining talent from just a few feet away, all while enjoying top-tier craft beer and incredible food from their partner restaurant right next door, The Ripplewood.Local Tip: You do not need a car to get here! The venue is wildly accessible from Center City Philadelphia. Just hop on SEPTA’s Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail line—the Ardmore station train platform literally drops you off right at the venue’s back door. Get there when doors open to snag a spot on the elevated viewing balconies, or grab a VIP booth if you want to make a full, elevated night out of it!
