Mireya Ramos ~ vocal, violin Felipe Fournier ~ drums Axel Tosca ~ keys Trevor Turla ~ trombone MIREYA RAMOS is a Latin Grammy winning vocalist, violinist, Guitarron player, composer, producer, arranger - and founder of Flor de Toloache, NY’s only all women mariachi. She embodies musical influences ranging from classical, mariachi, salsa, merengue to hip-hop. This versatility has landed her features on legendary albums by Luisito Quintero, Bobbito & Stretch, Len Smythe, Chicano Batman, Adrian Quesada (Black Pumas) and many more. In her early years, she became one of the only female mariachi performers in the NYC, playing with salsa and cuban bands such as Luisito Quintero, Pedrito Martinez, Willie Colón and Carlos Formell. After performing with Omar Sosa at the Blue Note, she was invited to perform at the Dominican Jazz fest with Chucho Valdés and Prodigio which sparked her interest in Latin jazz and improvisation. Since then, she has collaborated with a variety of world renowned musicians that include: John Legend, Miguel, H.E.R., Chris Rock, Dan Auerbach (Black Keys), John Prine, Chrissie Hynde, Lee Fields, Daptone Records, Monlaferte, Adrian Quesada (Black Pumas), Gaby Moreno, Camilo Lara, Chicano Batman, Sara Bareilles, Alex Cuba, Chucho Valdez, Eddie Palmieri, Making Movies, Victoria La Mala, Robert Glasper, Natalia La Fourcade, Thalia, Lila Downs, Cafetacvba, The Beatnuts and more.
