DINHO DINHO with support from The Backstacks — live event
DINHO DINHO began in 2016 when Shaan Ken Rao decided to explore recording on GarageBand. The artist’s first release is a collection of songs written before 2021 in which he sways between garage / indie rock, with hints of soul, funk, and bossa nova in the rhythm and instrumental stylings. In 2022, Shaan began working with Thomas Norton, who wrote lyrics and instrumental parts for songs alongside Shaan. As a duo, DINHO DINHO played a few shows at All St Gallery's two locations (77 East 3rd St. and 119 Hester St). After these successful shows, DINHO enlisted a drummer (Colum Enrique) and a bassist (Dominic LaMorte) and debuted as a full band at the distinguished Mercury Lounge in 2023. They have since played at many NY venues such as Bowery Electric, The Delancey, Arlene's Grocery, Berlin, Nicki's Unisex, etc. As of August 2024, they've released two singles from their upcoming album that give you hints of their new sound as a live band.
