David Ramirez is an Austin, Texas–based singer-songwriter whose quietly adventurous catalogue spans six full-length albums, three EPs, numerous collaborations, and the acclaimed supergroup project Glorietta. After years of balancing creativity with the pressure of what a record ‘should’ achieve, Ramirez stepped back from songwriting to regroup personally and reconnect with music on its own terms. In the wake of a major breakup, he chose to process privately rather than rush toward a predictable heartbreak album—waiting until he felt hopeful enough to write again. That renewed spirit fuels his latest album, All the Not So Gentle Reminders, a 12-song, dreamlike collection that puts texture, mood, and musical movement at the center of the storytelling.
