Sarah Cabral - Voice Hélio Alves ~ Piano Gilí Lopes ~ Bass Rafael Barata ~ Drums Sarah Cabral was born in southern Brazil. She draws on modern jazz, avant-garde, and classical influences to breathe new life into seemingly bygone eras of traditional and popular Brazilian music. A recent review by Helvécio Cardoso in Diário da Manha read that her music “unites the sophistication of the most exquisite taste and simplicity.” Cabral studied at The California Jazz Conservatory with mentor Marcos Silva, and has collaborated with artists like Eva Scow, Scott Thompson, and the legendary Bororó Felipe. Cabral is currently based in New York City and is working on her current project produced by Grammy winner nominated Chico Pinheiro. She also continues to perform at notable venues and festivals around the country.
