Codeine — live event
Formed in New York in 1989 by Stephen Immerwahr, Chris Brokaw, and John Engle, Codeine created some of, if not the most, bluntly melancholy music of the 90’s. Relying on wistfully weighty slow-core tempos and fuzzy, distorted noise, Codeine was born out of the music-incubated Oberlin College before relocating and playing their first shows in gritty bars and venues on the east coast.
