An evening of Buena Vista live is a mesmerizing journey through genres such as son, bolero, danzón, and cha-cha-cha. Expect performances that are a blend of intricate guitar work, vibrant piano riffs, soulful trumpet solos, and captivating rhythms from congas and bongos, all woven together by heartfelt vocals that tell stories of love, longing, and everyday life in Cuba. The original ensemble was formed in 1996 by American guitarist Ry Cooder and Cuban bandleader Juan de Marcos González. Their aim was to revive the traditional sounds of pre-revolutionary Cuba, bringing together some of the island’s most talented and seasoned musicians. The resulting self-titled album, “Buena Vista Social Club,” released in 1997, achieved international acclaim and won a Grammy Award, propelling the group to global fame.The music shall be performed by the best Cuban musicians from the UK.
