Hailing from Harlem, NY, LUCA takes the vibrancy of the city’s cultural center and embodies it in his music. A natural and a perfectionist, the 21-year-old has been involved in music for his entire life, learning to play piano at the age of 3, singing in choirs by 11, and eventually picking up the guitar in high school. His songs possess constant movement—dynamic energy that lifts, surprises, and above all, touches you. You can hear the R&B and other old-school influences in his self-taught production techniques that are a delightfully eclectic blend of Motown, neo-soul, house, and light techno with subtle but deliberate notes of Afro-funk. Most importantly the usage of his live instrumentation, both guitar and bass, are at the core of what makes his sound. Newest release “Wake Up” is a vibrant, intimate R&B anthem that brings LUCA’s vocals to the forefront, with vivid intonations that paint the internal push and pull of insecurity in the pursuit for love. It serves as the final single before his debut EP in March. Sophie Said was born in the year 170 in what is now known as the Upper West Side. Although unconfirmed, she is alleged to be a direct descendent of Persian royalty, Amadeus Mozart, and Beyonce. At just 11 years old, she headlined the first music festival to ever exist in ancient Mesopotamia alongside her 178 piece orchestra. Sophie Said later met a time traveler from the year 2099 who she would marry and live with on Mars’ newly terraformed colonies with. For her 21st birthday, her cyborg dog Archibald gifted her Logic ProX, because he grew tired of hearing her attempt to harmonize with herself. Sophie Said went on the write, record, and distribute music from Mars, making her the first Martian musician to get on Spotify’s Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Pop editorial playlist placements. She is currently planning a headlining tour of the known universe.
