Hailing from the humble heavy music scene of Savannah, GA, The Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir set out with a DIY ethos, forward mentality, and an unrelenting drive. Musically, we channel a blend of sounds that are swatched from the palettes of 90s screamo, mathcore, and post-hardcore in a way that turns a flair for the nostalgic on its head. Our abrasiveness and energy has us garnering comparisons to The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Locust, and The Jesus Lizard but we are constantly evolving and trying to expand from there. We are strong advocates of LGBTQ+ rights, racial equality, justice for survivors of abuse, and representation of society’s outcasts and marginalized communities. Live performance is one of the most important things to us, and having started on touring the United States, we are still growing rapidly and pushing ourselves into new territory. Our frenetic performances and high octane music will make any show of ours one worth attending and one to be remembered. Over the course of the last few years, we have shared bills with SOUL GLO, The Body, Capra, Evergreen Terrace, Yashira, Zeta, Gillian Carter, Dreamwell, Black Tusk, Midwife, Cloud Rat, Lazer/Wulf, Yautja, and many more.
