Gathering a following over the years as a “cult band’’, through live performances that have been described as “nihilistic riots’’ the group’s drug infused surrealist sounds paint a loud , bittersweet picture of what life is really like in the big city. Children of the Pope will never try and please the listener, they are the irreverent sons in a music scene considerably saturated with good chaps from good families.
