DJ Mike Torres, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY is a well-versed open-format DJ with over 35 years of experience. A Native New Yorker with Puerto Rican roots, he was raised listening to Salsa, Disco, Motown, and Funk. As a son of a Latin percussionist, he learned the sound of the drum at an early age!! Eventually, he branched out into other genres in his teenage years such as Rock, Reggae, Hip-Hop, House, Freestyle, and Caribbean Vibes. Recording and making his own mixtapes of the Saturday Night Dance Party on 92.3 KTU with Glenn Friscia and Roman Ricardo or 98.7 Kiss FM with DJ Red Alert, his passion for DJing grew. His first set of turntables in 1989 was a pair of Gemini XL-BD10s. As he got older, branching out and evolving technologies inspired him to move vinyl (still maintains collection) to Serato.
