PEAK + RYAN LIATSIS + P(X3) — live event

In late 2016 Brooklyn-based guitarist and songwriter Jeremy Hilliard began performing and touring under the name PEAK. In 2018, he released the now critically acclaimed debut album Electric Bouquet, produced by Dave Brandwein (Turkuaz). In 2019 the band took on a life of its own as one by one some of the best musicians in the improv rock scene joined the group including Kito Bovenschulte (Particle) on drums, Josh T. Carter (Hayley Jane and The Primates) on bass, and newcomer extraordinaire Johnny Young on keys. The group’s music, described as Psychedelic Indie Funk, is a mix of poetic, melodic songwriting, moody electrofunk, riffed-out blues-rock, and exploratory danceable improvisations. Some of their many influences include artists such as The Band, The Talking Heads, Phish, The Grateful Dead, Radiohead, James Brown, and Miles Davis, as well as modern songwriters such as Conor Oberst, Mac Demarco, Kurt Vile, and Jack White to name a few. Ryan Liatsis is best known as a guitarist, music educator and composer. Over the span of his 2 decade long career, Ryan has performed all over the United States, composed scores for top selling video games and worked with some of the most respected artists of our time. Drawing influence from a wide variety of revolutionaries like Frank Zappa, Hans Zimmer and Slash, Ryan’s unique approach and emphasis on originality has always remained at the forefront of his musical offerings. Heavy riff rock, melancholy country ballads and obscure jazz fusion are just some of what you can expect to hear live from Ryan and his fiery power trio. Featuring two of Connecticut’s hardest working musicians, P(x3) was founded by drummer Rob Madore and keyboardist/saxophonist Isaac Young of the band No Mind. Driven by masterful improvisation, creative compositions, and a deep reverence for the groove, CT’s newest duo is taking the region by storm. Both musicians have carved a name for themselves in the regional and national music scene and are now taking their collaborative efforts to a new level. P(x3) brings you music for the end of times, the best of times, and the surrealist of times. Whether you hear traces of synth-wave, EDM, jazz, funk, hip-hop, or even some regional Mongolian folk songs, this powerhouse duo reshapes the very fabric of the music. Both Madore and Young have a deep intrinsic connection on stage that sometimes represents a two-headed musical beast bringing a mind-bending live show that has left audiences slack-jawed and awestruck.
