Frontwoman CJ Johnson, the "distinctively raspy," "huge-voiced" singer profiled by the Washington Post, leads a group NIVA named one of the "must-see live performers of 2023." Across five releases on their own Wally Baba Records, the Blood in the Water EP (2018), Oh He Dead (2019), Pretty (2023), Ugly (2024), and Vertigo (2026), the band has built a catalog that refuses to pick a lane while "reshaping [soul] for the better with every gritty note and groovy riff" (The Daily Trojan).
