There’s a type of band that doesn’t just play songs — they collect them, test-drive them, stretch them, condense them, and send them back out however they’re meant to be. Fellow Travelers belong in that category. At the heart of it all is Max Niemann: armed with a six-string guitar, a harmonica rack, and a catalog of songs that feel lived-in – whether it’s a front porch blues or a sprawling piece of electric alchemy. Organ lines shimmer, fiddle and pedal steel soar over guitars braided together in ragged, interlocking patterns just above a rhythm section that might swing, shuffle, or hit a wide-open drive. It’s music that honors the lineage of American roots while insisting that there’s more roads for it to wander down. Come celebrate the release fo their newest record "Don't Fail Me Now." Samuel Aaron has no interest in appearing nonchalant. The Chicago-based, Portland-born artist has a refreshingly earnest approach to making music, weaving together confessional lyricism, playful arranging, and soulful vocal performances. While Aaron’s songwriting is rooted in the folk lineage, his affinity for eclectic soundscapes and his taste for a wide array of genres–including art-pop, R&B, and indie rock–reverberate through his music. The Part Timers are a rock and roll band full of country sincerity and indie naivety, addicted to the song, devoted to the hopeful taste of imperfection, and striving for nothing much at all.
