She began singing at the age of three and began modeling in pageant competitions at age five. TRACIE performed and directed her first music video at ten years old. This led to her competing on the hit American TV show Star Search in 1987, where she won the $10,000 junior vocalist prize. Afterwards, Tracie became the youngest female solo artist to sign a major label recording deal with Capitol Records. Her self-titled debut album, TRACIE SPENCER, included the hits, "Symptoms of True Love", "Hide and Seek", and the John Lennon remake, "Imagine". At the age of 14, TRACIE released her second album, MAKE THE DIFFERENCE, which included the single, "This House". The hit song reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
