*Short Waves Presents:* **\-LA WOMEN:** New Zealand-born, London-based, LA WOMEN cut their teeth playing secret shows back home, rooftops, backyards, anywhere they could plug in, and that same DIY spirit still drives the band today. Off the back of high-energy singles "Hell of a Night," "Moneypenny" and "BYOD," the band celebrate the release of their new EP Control with a headline show at Victoria, Dalston, with the record dropping the very same day. The EP's two remaining songs land with title track Control, a high-energy shot at hustle culture and hollow ambition, a middle finger to anyone chasing the corner office while losing their soul along the way. It's a message the band practice as much as preach: Control is a fully independent release, no management and no label calling the shots, just LA WOMEN answering to no one and staying in control of their own sound.
