Formed in Ealing in 1985 and inspired by 70s funk and jazz-fusion, they emerged with a sound that felt both classic and new, quickly gaining ground on the UK and US charts. With 16 UK Top 40 singles and over 2.5 million records sold globally, their influence runs deep. Tracks like “Dream On Dreamer”, “Midnight at the Oasis” and “Never Stop” became modern standards, while their 1994 platinum album Brother Sister remains a landmark in British soul.
