The festival also celebrates the release and launch of the club's label with 7 bands performing who's live records were released in September 2026. This festival is made in part by our partners at D'Addario.Kayvon Gordon was born and raised in Detroit. At a young age, he was taken under the mentorship of legendary trumpeter Marcus Belgrave. Later, he went on to the University of Michigan where he studied with Robert Hurst and Benny Green. Gordon has performed In Europe, Africa, South Asia, The United Arab Emirates, and North America. He has also had the honor of sharing the stage with Marcus Belgrave, Joe Lovano, Johnny O’Neal, Robert Hurst, Rodney Whitaker, Sullivan Fortner, Ravi Coltrane, JD Allen and Wynton Marsalis, to name a few. Kayvon Gordon seeks to contribute to the forward thinking aesthetic of his contemporaries while honoring the rich musical legacy of Detroit.
