Sierra Spirit is the solo project of Native American artist Sierra Spirit Kihega. Hailing from Tulsa Oklahoma, the home of both her tribes (Otoe-Missouria and Keetoowah Cherokee) - she draws from her lived experience and cultural background as part of the Native community. From loss, to love, to transparency about mental health, Sierra’s first EP “coin toss” tells a raw story of the honest struggles of growing up. Taking inspiration from artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, The Japanese House and Ethel Cain - Sierra has created a unique brand of melancholy, guitar driven, twangy indie rock. Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Sydney Ross Mitchell embarked on her musical journey at nineteen, relocating to Nashville to refine her songwriting skills. After two years, she returned to Texas, only to eventually settle in Los Angeles. In LA, Sydney has seamlessly blended her country origins with modern influences, creating a genre she describes as Folk Dream Pop. In August 2023, Sydney’s breakout hit, "The Edge," catapulted her to viral fame, establishing a robust online presence with over 33,000 followers and nearly 8 million likes on TikTok. Sydney's engaging songwriting and charismatic persona have resonated deeply with her audience. Her subsequent single, "Pornstar," received substantial editorial acclaim including New Music Friday, Fresh Finds, Next Gen Singer Songwriter and more. Additionally, Sydney is making her mark in the film industry with the short film "Lacuna," for which she not only stars but also wrote and performed the soundtrack. With 127,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and her debut project slated for release in 2024, Sydney is poised for significant impact in the music scene.
