An Evening with Kacy Hill — live event

Kacy Hill, Alex Amen Resilience, range, and reinvention are just a few words to describe the era singer-songwriter Kacy Hill ushers in with her new music. Guided by her ethereal vocals, the upcoming project is Hill making her mark within the folk and Americana soundscape. Her collection of dreamy, melodic songs are rooted in combining traditional American storytelling and her unique sound together to deliver a refreshing take on a classic genre. Hill exemplifies what it means to be a genre-bending artist–consistently challenging herself to expand her horizons while upholding authenticity at the forefront of her work. Four albums in (2024's BUG, 2021's Simple, Sweet, And Smiling, 2020's Is It Selfish If We Talk About Me Again, and 2017's Like A Woman), this new chapter is a culmination of reworking her songwriting process to create the project she’s strived to make over the course of her career. For this record, Hill honed in on strongly developing each song from its lyrics and melodies, compared to previous works where she’d build from production fragments or ideas. While Hill has been recognized for notable collaborations with Travis Scott (“90210)” and Bon Iver (“PDLIF”), her new music positions her as a revitalizing voice for Americana and folk music. “I want to make something timeless that feels deeply from me and pulls from my biggest inspirations in country and folk music,” says Hill, proving the dedication she has to demonstrate her comprehensive knowledge and connection to both genres and beyond. Alex Amen is a twenty-five-year-old artist and songwriter from Texas. At eighteen, Alex moved from Texas to California to study filmmaking. After one semester he dropped out and moved onto the "Dittman Family Commune", a historic commune with ties to the anti-war, civil rights, and psychedelic countercultural movements of the mid-60’s. It was here that he formed his first band, “American Slang” in 2017. The band broke up shortly after, resulting in Alex’s move from Southern California to an island in the Puget Sound of Washington State. Here he spent three years in relative isolation, taking up various interests in mycology, mountaineering, poetry, and wooden boat building. As years passed, Alex felt the increasing need to return to California to pursue music. In January of 2023 he self produced his first record (unreleased) in a self built studio at the historic Zorthian Ranch in Altadena, California. Alex now lives in Los Angeles and is performing and releasing music among the growing folk/americana/country scene in the city.
