- ALBUM RELEASE SHOW - “The naked roots of Gotham” is how the New Yorker describes Kill Henry Sugar, the metropolitan folk duo of Grammy-winning producer Dean Sharenow and songwriter Erik Della Penna. A staple of the NYC music scene for over 20 years, and Barbès regular for at least 15 of those years, they have lent their writing, production, and performance talents to the likes of Joan Baez, Sting, Natalie Merchant, David Yazbek, and Tiny Tim. The pair are about to release their seventh collection of petulant Yankee poetry. Tonight they’re at Barbés for an evening of happy-go-grumpy songs and blunt conversation.
