Curtis Hasselbring and his Curhachestra Curtis Hasselbring’ s trombone and guitar playing has been witnessed repeatedly on the stage at Barbes over the last 24 years. In addition to appearing with everybody from Slavic Soul Party to Big Lazy. As well as being known for composing unique pieces that embody his love for rock, jazz, surf, electronic, Latin and film music, Curtis has recently been busy arranging and writing for the Ghost Train Orchestra , including their most recent collaboration with David Byrne The Curhachestra is Curtis Hasselbring's unique take on old sounds, modern compositional approaches and classic grooves. The combination of Curtis's trombone and Raphael McGregor 's lap-steel guitar explore rootsy sounds bringing together elements of jazz, rock, country and experimental music for a vibe that is both traditional and contemporary. Adam Minkoff (bass) and Dan Rieser (drums) round out the band with propulsive yet intriguing approaches to Hasselbring’s music.
