Apollo's Ghost — live event
Apollo's Ghost is a three piece instrumental band hailing from Brooklyn, NY. Ben Curtis on guitar, Ray Mazza on drums, David Sutkin on bass. The band's music is like hot lava. From the moment the songs take shape, that shape is taking a different shape. Confused? Don't worry. The band's genre defying style of rock is in part due to the fact that there is no front man. "We're ultimately trying to keep ourselves entertained and hoping that somehow that translates to the listener". Their music pulls from decades of influences including 70's icons like Zeppelin, Yes, and early Police. Add a dash of post punk dissonance and some 90's heft and there you have it. A tight, frenetic power trio. In early 2018 the band released a five song self titled EP that was a real snapshot in time. Those fledgling recordings gave them the first bit of pavement to accelerate on. Their second release "Second Summer" came out in the fall of 2019 with mega producer Gus Van Go at the helm. "It really captured the live power of the band!" Studio albums always give the artist time for reflection. Finally getting to see from the outside who they were becoming as a group. The third album, AG 3 is out June 30th 2022!!! By listening to the first two singles "Mighty Anxiety" and "The Dust", it clearly promises to be the most complex and melodic work to date for this chameleon creature that is Apollo's Ghost.
